A general power of attorney form is used to appoint someone to make short term financial decisions on your behalf. For example, it allows a donee to buy and sell things or to operate a donor's bank account for a short period of time.
The form can be downloaded for free here. This link will take you to the Land Services website. You can find the form in the 'Registration Forms' list.
A general power of attorney is much like an enduring power of attorney. The main difference to consider is that a general power of attorney is cancelled automatically if you become 'legally incapacitated', while an enduring power of attorney will continue to be effective.
